Password Manager is now Vesta

Password Manager has a proper name now: Vesta. The home page lives at vesta.somnara.tech, and the web vault at app.vesta.somnara.tech.

  • Your account and vault are unchanged — sign in at the new address with the same username and master password.
  • The old pm.somnara.tech addresses redirect here, and Secure Send links made before the move still open.
  • The desktop and phone apps are new installs under the new name: install Vesta from the downloads above, sign in, and remove the old app. Turn biometric unlock and autofill back on in the new one.

A new home page

pm.somnara.tech is now the home page: downloads for every platform and this news feed. The web vault has moved to its own address, app.pm.somnara.tech.

  • Your account and vault are unchanged — just sign in at the new address.
  • Secure Send links made before the move still open: they redirect to the new address.
  • The desktop and phone apps keep working without an update.

Changes from other devices show up sooner

  • Sync when you return. Switch back to the app (or the browser tab) and it fetches changes made on your other devices, if the last sync was more than a minute ago.
  • Sync on demand. Pull down on the vault list on your phone, or choose Sync now from the menu on the web and desktop.
  • Remembered username. The desktop app and the website fill in your username next time, so you only type your master password. Untick Remember username on this device to turn it off. Your master password is never stored.

Add two-factor codes by scanning the QR code

When a site shows a QR code to set up two-factor authentication, you can now add it without typing the secret:

  • Phone: tap Scan QR next to the one-time code field, then use the camera or pick a screenshot.
  • Web and desktop: paste a screenshot of the code into the field (on a Mac, ⌃⇧⌘4 copies part of the screen), drop an image on it, or choose Scan QR.

The image is read on your device and never uploaded.

Also in this round: unlocking on iPhone is faster (the key derivation now runs natively), and several layout fixes for small screens and the on-screen keyboard on Android.

Desktop apps for Mac and Windows

Password Manager is now available as a desktop app for macOS (Apple silicon) and Windows. It's the same vault as the web version — everything is still encrypted on your device before it's synced — packaged as an app with its own window and Dock/taskbar icon.

The builds aren't code-signed yet, so the first time you open one your system will ask you to confirm. See the download notes on the home page.
